Taurus Healthcare was established in 2012 as a federation of all 20 Herefordshire GP Practices.

Its creation reflected a nationwide trend for general practices to work together to deliver better and more resilient services for patients. The key principle for federative working in general practice is to wrap support around practices, providing the glue between them and filling any gaps.

Our objective is not to replace practices, but to support them and offer services that they wouldn’t individually be able to access. Our shareholders are all 20 Herefordshire GP practices.

We are a limited company, but operate as if we are a Community Interest Company. Any surpluses we make are reinvested into providing improved healthcare services for the people of Herefordshire now and in the future.
