Hereford Dino Day!
Art & Craft, Film & Theatre, Family Friendly
We're excited to announce that our popular Dino Days are returning to Hereford City Centre in summer! These events will feature dinosaur meet-and-greet opportunities and performances, and children's workshops.
On Saturday 19th August you can find the Hereford City Life team on Hereford Cathedral Close as part of their Saturday Spectacular!
Dinosaur Stage Show
A fun dinosaur-themed performance for all the family! With appearances from the raptors themselves, this show will also feature plenty of dino facts and dinosaur dancing. Audience participation is warmly encouraged!
Dinosaur Meet & Greet
Are you brave enough to meet a dinosaur? In between performances, four dinosaurs and their keepers will be roaming through the Cathedral Close and surrounding streets. Snap a photo with a baby dinosaur or, if you’ve feeling especially courageous, say hello to a full-size raptor - maybe she'll take a liking to you and allow you to get up close, or maybe she'll just view you as tasty snack!
Mural Workshop: Prehistoric Mural Making with Hannah Lou-Jones
Take part in making a prehistoric collaged mural! Join the Hereford City Life team for this free workshop, where each child can contribute to the creation of a large multi-media illustrated mural on the theme of dinosaurs. Run by Hereford College of Arts BA(Hons) Illustration alumna, Hannah Lou-Jones, this family-friendly workshop is ideal for children aged 8-13.
Dino Fossil Hunting
Dig for dinosaur fossils and see what you can discover! Using brushes and tools, search through sand boxes to see how many buried dinosaur skeletons you can uncover. Hidden amongst the skeletons are special Golden Dinosaur bones – anyone able to locate them will take home a special certificate marking them as a Dino Dig Expert. This activity is recommended for ages 3-7.
