Ceramics Festival Hereford

Art & Craft

In November we will be hosting Ceramics Festival Hereford, a celebration of ceramics right in the heart of Hereford.

Our mission is to engage the public with craft through participatory workshops, showcase the work of talented local and national potters and to provide a platform for artists to connect with the wider community.

There is extensive research showing the benefits of engagement with creative practices such as working with clay on our mental health and we hope to share that with all those who attend the festival.

This free festival will be delivered between Maylord Orchards, City Centre and the CUP Studio at Foley Trading Estate. It offers the opportunities to learn from the best through workshops for all ages and abilities, a makers market and exciting outdoor raku firing.

The various areas will be connected by an art trail that can be accessed and enjoyed by all, attracting people throughout the city centre.

This is the festival’s second year and we are keen to build upon the success of last year,  We are proud to say that we will be hosting some of the best ceramicists who will be sharing their skills and knowledge including the finalists from Channel 4’s Great Pottery Throw Down.

This year we will have a focus on sustainability, something which is important to us at CUP Ceramics. Working with Bartonsham Meadows and Herefordshire Wildlife Trust and local artists, we will have a sustainability hub focusing on the county and sustainable practice. This will include an interactive art installation.
