Christmas Light Switch On Announced

In partnership with Maylord Orchards and Old Market shopping centre, Hereford City Council have just announced the date for this year's Christmas Lights Switch On - Sunday 20th November!

For the first time since the pandemic, the city is marking the start of the festive season with an exciting Switch On event with a live show in High Town. The event will see the main Christmas Lights in Hereford be switched on as the City comes together during the evening of Sunday 20th November to begin the festive period, with a live show in High Town!

The plans have been coordinated in partnership with Maylord Orchards and Old Market to ensure Hereford looks unified in its decoration.

The City Council also announced that they have signed a contract for the annual Christmas Lights with Festive Lighting. The lights will feature a new design with changing colours.

The contract takes advantage of savings from using low energy technology and will be more cost-effective than previous iterations, resulting in no increase to the cost of the Christmas Lights.
