We want to help Hereford celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and showcase businesses during the May half term and bank holiday weekend: Monday 30th May – Sunday 5th June.
To do so, we have created a two part plan and invite you to get involved!
Part 1: Platinum Jubilee Best Dressed Window Competition!
Following a similar format to the popular Best Xmas Shop Window Awards, we are encouraging businesses to decorate their shop windows and frontages with a theme that celebrates the Jubilee - think crowns, bunting and royal colours! Displays must be ready for photos to be taken before Monday 30th May, in time for a public vote on Facebook that will decide a winner and runner up! The winning business will receive a certificate and two bottles of fizz.
We are looking forward to seeing businesses get creative to make the city centre look welcoming for visitors. The competition is also a great way to have your business featured via Hereford City Life and reach new potential customers.
Part 2: Platinum Jubilee LoyalFree Trail
The BID team are busy working on another fun, family trail in the city centre designed to encourage visitors to explore the city during the school half term and bank holiday weekend.
Visitors will use the LoyalFree app to search for crowns hidden in the windows of shops, scanning the codes at each trail destination before heading off to a final location to receive a free prize.
There will be 10 locations included on this trail so we encourage any businesses looking to take part to express their interest. Participating businesses will be chosen on a first come first served basis.
